Poem: Arches
A short poem I wrote while staring at the stars in Arches National Park in February, 2017:
Arches
Under a moonlit sky
Stone arches tower above
Millennia in the making
Thoughts swirl through my head
Faster than the wind
Eroding my essence, like a smoothed stone
Shaping my being, sculpting my sense of self
Though the age old rocks whisper back
Only silence
For Mother Nature cares not for the trials of man
I am at the mercy of the beauty she created
Standing before me
In perfect silence
